CAN SOMEONE STUDY IN A COLLEGE AND STILL TAKE THE JEE ADVANCED EXAM AS A DROPPER?
According to the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced, which is the only way to get into the IITs, one can appear for JEE Advanced and can get a seat in any IIT based on his/her rank only if he had not taken a seat in any of the 23 IITs previously subject to fulfilling the other eligibility criteria apart from this. In simple words, if you are eligible for JEE Advanced and also not enrolled in any IIT, then you can definitely take the JEE Advanced exam as a dropper.
One of my junior’s coaching teacher at Resonance landed in NIT Kurukshetra after two years of JEE preparation but he always wanted to be an IITian and so during his first year at NIT Kurukshetra (NITKKR), he prepared again for JEE, cleared the exam and got admission in IIT Roorkee.
So if you are a college student, not from any IIT but eligible for JEE Advanced and want to give it a try, then you should definitely go for it. But in this case, you must prepare with full dedication and determination during your first year so that you don’t end up wasting your one year at your present college.
Hope this helps you. Thank you for reading!
