CAN YOU SHARE THE STORY OF SOMEONE WHO BUT CRACKED JEE MAIN WITH OKAY-OK MARKS BUT CRACKED JEE ADVANCED IN LAST MONTH WITH AT LEAST 3K-4K RANK?

Yes. He was my friend's friend and his name was Hari Krishna. Though I don't know him personally but I have heard about him from my friend quite a few times.

Jumping directly to the answer, Hari Krishna scored around 140 marks out of 360 in JEE Main 2016. He was quite upset with his result and so he went to his hometown right after JEE Main 2016. He also didn’t attend the JEE Advanced classes as he was not happy with his result. What he actually did was that during the time when everyone (including my friend) was busy attending JEE Advanced classes, doing the toughest sums for JEE Advanced and whatnot, he just picked 10-15 previous year JEE Advanced papers and solved it during the 45-day period before JEE Advanced 2016. Additionally, he revised his notes, important questions and formulas by doing self-study.

It was to my surprise when I got to know from my friend (who scored around 230 marks out of 360 in JEE Main 2016) that Hari Krishna secured a rank of around 4,000 whereas my friend's rank was something around 5,000. So, Hari Krishna, whom I have heard about, is the guy who cracked JEE Main with okay-ok marks but cracked JEE Advanced with a rank of around 4k.

Later, my friend and his friend (Hari Krishna), both joined IIT Bombay in different programs.

There is a list of chapters, questions from that are only asked in JEE Main and hence they are called JEE Main Topics.
